Montezuma still has a home-owned pharmacy!

When you step off the square and into newly-remodeled Remedy Drug, you take a delightful step back in time - while still sensing that you're firmly anchored in the present.

From the wooden floors and the beautiful finished cabinetry. .to the scent of candles and other fragrances, you're reminded of a time gone by.

Todd Thompson continues the tradition as Montezuma’s pharmacist. Your prescriptions are handled with a special caring, personal and professional touch.

Todd  purchased
the store from
Gordon Alexander in  the summer
of 2008.

"We have added a few over-the-counter medications, vitamins, supplements and medical supplies," Todd said. "We want to make it easier for people to stay in town to purchase things."

Customers will notice a new line of greeting cards. They'll find former gift items and new gift items.

There are quite a few things for children, which means toys.

There is an expanded line of candy and you'll even find an end counter with school supplies.

The checkout counter in the back has been moved to the side and an old door with "pharmacy" written across the glass upper portion allows store employees access to the back room. It also expands the area for the over-the-counter medications.

There are chairs in case you need to wait for your prescription to be filled.

It has the look and feel of an old-fashioned pharmacy, but one that has its arms open and ready to embrace the future of Montezuma, U.S.A.

"We wanted to tie in old things with new," Todd said. "And we wanted to use some of the character of the building."

Todd said his wife, Sherri, masterminded the remodeling project which was completed the first week of December.

"We love this town," Todd said. "It's a neat place. We hope that we can help it."
