Tyler Foubert has more success on the mats

Montezuma eighth grader Tyler Foubert has distinguished himself again in a couple of wrestling tournaments.
On Jan. 9, Foubert pinned four opponents to wn the Schoolboy 150-pound weight class at the AAU Winter Nationals in Omaha.
On Jan. 10, Tyler pinned all of his opponents in the First Annual Youth State Duals in Knoxville and was one of 30 wrestlers awared an All-American medal for finishing the day unbeaten.
At Omaha, Foubert pinned Ben Wellman of Sioux City in 42 seconds, Brian Scarf of Nebraksa in 1:56, and Adam Mickelson of Council Bluffs in 1:52. In the title bout, Foubert stuck Shawn Roblee of Nebraska in 1:35. Tyler earned a first place medal and a custom AAU Nationals singlet.
At Knoxville, Tyler bumped up to 160 pounds and wrestled for the Grinnell Tiger Wrestling Team. Fourteen teams from around the state competed. Grinnell went against Knoxville Gold and Knoxville Black, Golden Eagles Blue, Albia and Clear Creek-Amana.
Foubert and teammates Christian Polly and Payton Kauzlarich went unbeaten for the Grinnell team.
